It's Easter and you have been asking for us to run this fun workshop again. Lovely Nicola said yes, so you will once again have a chance to make the opulent Faberge Eggs. You will paint, sculpt and carve these jewel-encrusted masterpieces to make your own imperial egg! Yours could even have a secret chamber. Perfect way to celebrate Easter!!!

CYCLE MANIA
With the road world championships coming to Wollongong, it’s a perfect time to get cycling and repurposing bike parts. In this workshop we are learning which tools do what to disassemble a bike and then we will be making playful, quirky installations and take -home sculptures.

MARBLED BOOKS
Looking at the history of this ancient paper decoration we will be immersed in the magic of floating ink on water, try it ourselves and make a simple book. You will create the prettiest paper, perfect for book binding, card making and gift wrapping. You will love it!

In this class you will create a fabulous
T-shirt that will rock your hand-made design. Using a variety of techniques you will draw, paint, print and heat transfer design on your shirt. It will be a one of, unique piece - just like you.

COOL SHARKS

This one is for the budding marine biologists that love sharks! These majestic creatures have maintained balance in our oceans for millions of years but unfortunately, they find themselves endangered. Using clay we will create shark sculptures, that can be as realistic or as imaginative as you like. Together we will create a shark parade with attitude and style.

SPRAY PAINT ART

Get ready for some spray painting action. Inspired by contemporary street art, we will use pastels, textas, acrylics and spray paints to create awesome paintings that capture your signature style. The class will involve going for a mini tour of the local street artworks!

YOUNG INVENTORS

This is a call for all young inventors, bursting with weird and wonderful ideas. We will look at real life challenges that scientists are trying to find solutions for and you can help them solve the problem. Using a selection of wood, nuts and bolts, metal, cardboard and plastics, you will cut, glue, paint, hammer and put together a prototype for an invention that might change the world! Now let’s get busy!

MINIATURE THEATRE

Get lost in the beauty of story telling as you create your own miniature theatre from scratch. You will create a stage and props, along with all the characters for your play. It’s then time to create stories, play and entertain. You will create something that will give you hours of joy and will fire up your imagination.

MODERN PALAEONTOLOGY

We find ourselves in the golden age of palaeontology as scientists are discovering a new dino species every week! Join us for a day of exploration of cool new technologies used by the palaeontologists. Using clay and paint you will sculpt and create your own dinosaur exhibit that can include everything from dino skeleton, muscles, skin, dinosaur eggs, it’s environment and even dinosaur poop!

JURASSIC WORLD

Art + movie and popcorn - FULL DAY
Come and spend the day creating a miniature Jurassic world, complete with an erupting volcano, dinosaurs, dinosaur eggs and a miniature rainforest! This will be a day of total immersion in your imagination. Best of all, you get to take this miniature world home to keep playing with it.
This will be a workshop that you will remember forever!

Inspired by the cool, vintage posters we will create our own, complete with cool illustration, graphics and text. What will it be, King Kong vs Godzilla, a Pirate’s Treasure, maybe Mysterious Island? First create an awesome storyline then create a fun movie poster. This is your imagination so anything goes.

3D ANIMAL PORTRAITS

What is your favourite animal? Now imagine them wearing a suit or a dress, looking very fancy. In this class you will create funny, 3D portraits of your favourite creatures. These will be the quirkiest animal portraits ever.

MAGIC TREE HOUSES
Thur 21 April I 9:30 - 3:30 with Tamara
Get ready to get lost in the world of miniature tree house building! You will have a full day of pure joy as you create the house, along with all the props inside it. Using wood, cardboard, wire, clay, hot glue, moss and plants, your tree house will be a miniature master piece!

TURTLE ISLAND
Friday 22 April I 9:30 - 11 I with Tamara
Did you know that Indigenous people of North America , China and India have dream time stories about a giant turtle that caries an entire world on its back?! In this class we will learn about the biology of these amazing creatures, their habitat, behaviour and environmental challenges they are facing. You can chose if you wish to paint or sculpt them. They could indeed cary the world on their backs, wear a cape and be a super hero turtle of just simply be gliding through the ocean. Use your imagination to create the turtle the way you see it.
